What people usually bring to a session

Pressure from family and everyone who keeps asking. Anxiety that returns every month as a particular date approaches. A relationship that has started to feel like a chore. Guilt that makes no sense and is there anyway. And for some people: an earlier loss that was never properly grieved.

None of this means there is something wrong with you. It is a normal weight to carry in a genuinely hard situation, and that weight can be made lighter.

What we work on, and what is not our area

What we work on: managing anxiety that keeps returning, answering family questions without being drained by them, keeping the relationship warm, and talking about a loss that has been carried quietly. If you come as a couple, what often helps most is discovering you have both been carrying the same thing in silence.

What is not our area: fertility investigation and treatment. That belongs to an obstetrician. We make no promises about pregnancy outcomes, and we would never suggest delaying a medical assessment.

Frequently asked questions

Will this improve our chances of conceiving?

We do not promise that, and anyone who does is claiming more than the evidence can show. What can change is how you live through this period: anxiety that is more manageable, a relationship not entirely consumed by the subject, and decisions made with a clearer head. That is worth having in itself.

I have had a miscarriage. Is this the right place to talk about it?

Yes, and you do not have to wait until it has been "long enough" or was "serious enough". Pregnancy loss is often not treated as grief by the people around you, and that makes it heavier, not lighter. You are welcome to come for that alone, with no plan for another pregnancy.

My husband does not think he needs to come. Is that a problem?

Not a problem. Coming alone is already useful. What often happens is that a partner joins once out of curiosity, and then realizes he has been carrying the same things without ever naming them. But that is his choice, not a condition.
